Ag Loan Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Where do you start?
A. First things first: start the process of securing an agriculture loan by filling out our online application form. This way, we can get a better feel for you, your property information, and the purpose of the agriculture loan. You can always give us a call at 844.516.8176 as well.
Q. How long does the process take?
A. We’re known for our quick turnarounds. Fill out the form and we’ll be in touch within 48 hours. In terms of loan approval, we’re also known for our quick turnarounds. Given that we’ve received all required financial information, we’re usually able to give a Preliminary Loan Approval within a few days (to take advantage of special opportunities quickly!)
Q. How do payments work?
A. It really depends on the loan. Once approved, however, we’ll figure out a loan repayment structure that accommodates you and your budget. Annual, semi-annual or monthly payments are all options.
Q. How does the process work for first time borrowers?
A. It’s no mystery that your credit score will be heavily evaluated. Many first time borrowers underestimate its importance, but it absolutely matters. Your credit score, along with historical balance sheets, 2-3 years of tax returns, income and plans for the future will all be taken into account.
Q. What are the benefits of working with AgAmerica?
A. First, AgAmerica is the only lender in the Southeast authorized to offer these particularly unique loans. Our ag loans have no prepayment penalties and our interest rates regularly beat all other agriculture loan programs. AgAmerica’s fixed rate loans are available for up to 25 years, which lets you count on consistent payments throughout the life of your loan while managing your interest risk. Or, you may be interested in taking advantage of the low interest rates and keeping your payments as low as possible with an adjustable rate loan. AgAmerica offers a unique “conversion” feature, where you can convert over to another more rate-stable product at any payment date.
Plus, you’ll cultivate a personal relationship with AgAmerica. Accessibility and good communication are our top priorities. You’re able to come in and talk to an ag loan expert face-to-face or call us directly. We keep it real. In fact, our staff includes employees whose own farming histories stretch back generations. Suffice it to say, we know the industry and its demands. It’s our commitment that we are not only offering a loan, but a trusting relationship.
