Data Architect

AgAmerica is seeking a Data Architect to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for driving the design and implementation of our core data infrastructure and will set the standard for how we approach data modeling for years to come. The Data Architect will report to the Director of Data & Analytics, and will work collaboratively with all areas of the organization. To be successful in the role, this individual will need to balance the execution of the data strategy with conceptualizing innovative, scalable data modeling solutions. The role of the Data Architect is critical to the organization’s ability to derive value from our data assets, and the development of the analytics and data science program.

Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the establishment and execution of the roadmap and vision for data management; including the enterprise data warehouse, BI & analytics, data visualization, and advanced data analytics capabilities
  • Provide data architecture thought leadership in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modeling, data access, data integration, data visualization, data discovery, database design and implementation in order to enable business strategy
  • Architect, implement, and maintain data pipelines and cloud data warehouse, and the integration of BI and analytics systems
  • Partner with business stakeholders and management to identify needs, and guide the delivery of cost-effective, high-performance data solutions
  • Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations
  • Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features
  • Design, conceptualize, and recommend solutions to improve new and existing data models
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, ideally in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant field
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated understanding of enterprise data warehouse, BI & analytics, data integration & interoperability, and distributed computing
  • Data Engineering experience in current or past positions
  • Expertise in Microsoft Azure data engineering ecosystem, including Databricks, ADLS, ADF, Synapse, and Azure SQL

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
  • Agile Methodology experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Experience in Operational Data Store and data integration processes/procedures
  • Experience with Data Vault architecture methodology
  • Experience in Financial Services is a plus
