The Loan Accountant position is responsible for supporting the AgAmerica Treasury & Servicing Department by performing a variety of loan accounting duties including but not limited to loan level general ledger maintenance, cash management activities, reconciliations, and reporting.


The AgAmerica Treasury & Servicing Department is responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of loan level data and managing the loan-related cash movement and record keeping associated with AgAmerica Lending and its subsidiaries.


The candidate must be comfortable with performing a varied list of duties that could change on a regular basis depending on the needs of the Department. The individual must also possess strong attention to detail, be highly organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job Responsibilities


  • Daily Loan Accounting – establish loan level G/Ls (boarding) and subsequent G/L maintenance (payment posting)
  • Board new loans in the accounting system
  • Reconcile, prepare, and upload the associated accounting records
  • Prepare and/or validate client billing statements
  • Cash Management – Daily Lockbox/Servicing Transfers (money movement & reporting)
  • Prepare daily transfers and templated wires for fundings, draws, and counterparty remits
  • Monthly reporting and KPI preparation
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • One to two years of experience in the Loan Servicing and/or Loan Accounting fields
  • Deep understanding of loan documents and the related implications to loan accounting calculations (i.e. how interest is calculated and principal is allocated)
  • Excellent loan math skills
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Excel
