Business Analyst

AgAmerica is seeking a Business Analyst to join our growing team. The Business Analyst is an essential asset to the entire company through strategic problem-solving and innovative thinking which will support business growth and enhance AgAmerica’s reputation.

This individual will be responsible for driving the roadmap and implementation of new software solutions including, but not limited to, gathering and documenting requirements, testing, training, and participating in post deployment support. As the bridge between our business partners and the development team, we look to you to write the user stories.

Be ready to wear many hats working with business partners to understand their needs and set priorities for development efforts that align with company goals. This individual will report to the Chief Information Officer and will work with stakeholders and the Chief Enterprise Risk Officer to improve business outcomes. This position requires critical thinking, collaboration, and understanding of current and future projects within our fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will be able to adapt to new situations, work with a wide variety of department and people, take on new systems in a snap, demonstrate extreme ownership, and have a great sense of humor.

Job Responsibilities

Understand the Business
  • Manage the product roadmap in collaboration with the product owner to align project efforts with company goals and objectives
  • Analyze complex issues, solutions, ideas, and proposals to build a range of meaningful recommendations. This may be in the form of data mapping, user journeys, end to end process flows, etc.
  • Ability to gain buy-in across the organization with active listening, analysis, and solid presentation skills
Get the Job Done
  • Document requirements in the form of Confluence pages, user stories or wireframes to outline the solution
  • Negotiate with product owner on delivery timelines and scope
  • Create user stories and acceptance criteria for development team
  • Run UAT as needed including test scripts and user training
  • Create relevant release notes
Serve the Team
  • Be an advocate for stakeholders when it comes to making changes that they can absorb and adapt to
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with business partners to facilitate continuous improvement in the SDLC
  • Use multiple stakeholder views to develop solutions and provide recommendations
  • Create training materials that support new feature rollouts, train all users on new features, and assist in supporting the deployment, answering any questions or concerns the stakeholders may have

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience, ideally in business, communications, or similar field
  • 5+ years of relevant business experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches
  • Working knowledge of agile and waterfall methodologies
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Product management or product ownership preferred
