Emily Thompson

Emily Thompson joined AgAmerica Lending in April 2019. She is the Chief Information Officer and oversees IT operations, data management and security, project management, and new technology implementation. Emily is a certified Project Management Professions and a fourth-generation Floridian. She has a bachelor’s in communication and advertising from Florida Southern College.

Emily was the co-owner of Varia, an IT solutions company that worked with state parks across the nation through government contracts. She managed wireless architecture and PCI compliance within the company. After selling the Varia, Emily transitioned to a corporate role with Marriott Vacations Worldwide.

During her time at Marriott, Emily increased velocity of software delivery by 300 percent year-over-year for three consecutive years and implemented agile development in the midst of a waterfall system. Starting in infrastructure managing servers and ITIL processes, Emily crossed over to project management involving software and applications. Within her seven years of working for the company, Emily became the Senior Systems Analyst and  worked closely with the audit and cybersecurity compliance teams. She specialized in managing code baselines for multiple concurrent development teams working in the integration tier and e-commerce platform. Emily’s experience at Marriott as the  in both Software Development and Infrastructure Management enhanced her relationship management skills and Agile Development expertise. She is also well-versed in a plethora of IT platforms including Salesforce, SAP Hybris E-commerce, Middleware Technologies, Power Bi, Microsoft Project, HP ALM, and more.

As Chief Information Officer at AgAmerica Lending, Emily oversees all IT security and compliance while managing the IT infrastructure and architecture. Her team manages  software development and ensures backend systems and infrastructure are functioning properly. She prioritizes data securitization and technological innovation to provide optimal communication as AgAmerica continues to evolve as a company. From central servicing to streamlining the cohesion of marketing and production, Emily uses technology to create a scalable platform and to position the company for continued market share opportunities. Her utmost respect for farmers as the salt of the earth fuels her commitment to secure  innovative technology that will serve them best.
