Hunter Helms joined the AgAmerica Lending team in April 2017 as a Correspondent Lender in Texas. Hunter is a 5th generation cotton farmer and cattle rancher, raised in the rural town of Rotan, Texas. Growing up on the family farm has helped him understand the intrinsic value of the land and its agricultural products. Hunter believes this experience has set him up for success in the land lending business. “I know what it takes to be a farmer, and that makes helping them realize their farm’s full potential all the more rewarding.”
Hunter attended Texas Tech University, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture and Applied Economics. During his time at Texas Tech, Hunter was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Ducks Unlimited, and the Coastal Conservation Association of Texas. In 2010, he moved back home to Rotan to re-join the family business.
Hunter and his wife Blaire have made a life for themselves in Rotan with their son Fielding and daughter Sutton. They are active members of the First United Methodist Church of Rotan as well as the Chamber of Commerce and Community Service League. Hunter is a member of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association and enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and of course, attending Texas Tech football games with his family.
