Memorial Day is a time to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, but it’s also a time to thank those who have served. Unfortunately, many in the armed forces come home to a tough job market, making the transition back to civilian life a hard one. However, with true agricultural ingenuity, the ag industry recognized that the group of job-seeking military men and women are a perfect fit to help fill the empty ag ranks left by retiring farmers and ranchers. AgAmerica Lending would like to honor the men and women of our armed forces and assist with the armed forces-to-farm movement as a show of our thanks.
Veterans can find many ways that the country is offering its thanks for their service. For instance, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) teamed up with the Florida Forestry Service to offer “Operation Outdoor Freedom.” Every year, FDACS invites disabled veterans and Purple Heart recipients to register for a variety of free outdoor experiences that offer both recreation and rehabilitation. Events include camping, fishing, and hunting in Florida’s best public parks and waterways.
At AgAmerica Lending, we wanted to offer our support to the country’s military men and women as well, helping veterans transition from the military field to the agricultural field. For an Army veteran wishing to return to his agriculture roots, AgAmerica Lending was the impetus that made his dreams reality. With his eye on 300 acres in Florida that were well-suited to a cattle ranch, the land loan team with its expertise in cattle ranch loans was able to custom build his $1 million dollar loan package and fund by his pre-set closing date.
As the nation’s premier land lender, we help farmers and ranchers in every corner of the country develop and succeed with agricultural loans offering low interest rates, long amortizations, and outstanding 10-year line of credit.
