Update on Tennessee crops: What’s harvesting now?

As the calendar moves into November, the harvests of most states are done and in the books. However, Tennessee offers a rich soil and a mostly temperate climate that’s conducive to growing a wide array of crops. Agriculture is a main industry in The Volunteer State, with many Tennessee crops being harvested throughout the year. Leafy Greens

There are a wide array of greens and lettuces that are harvested in Tennessee in November and beyond. Some Tennessee crops are harvested all year long, such as herbs and mushrooms. Additional greens and similar produce that are harvested in November in Tennessee include bok choy, cabbage, lettuce, kale, greens, and mustard greens. Additionally, Tennessee is in the top 20 Christmas tree production states, and obviously, the lion’s share of Christmas trees are harvested in December.

Winter Vegetables

Winter vegetables are those that prefer cooler weather, and the bulk of Tennessee crops that are harvested during November are cruciferous vegetables, root vegetables, and other cold-loving produce.
