The Communications Content Specialist will be responsible for proposing and creating unique content across internal and external channels. The role will require excellent writing skills with a strong understanding of voice, audience, and how to deliver important information in a concise and digestible way. The Communications Content Specialist will report directly to the Director of Communications Strategy and will work closely with our internal editorial team for content distribution across channels.
This role is hybrid, based in Lakeland, FL. The position follows a standard Monday through Friday schedule, but the right fit candidate will occasionally assist with events outside traditional working hours (quarterly Happy Hours, annual holiday party, etc).

Job Responsibilities
- Write executive speeches for companywide meetings—writing in the speaker’s voice and adapting notes to suit the speaker’s preferred format.
- Create visual presentations with accompanying script/notes. Creation of the “script” will be adapted to the audience and purpose of the presentation and the accompanying presentation should be concise, visually appealing, and support the speaker instead of distracting from the speaker.
- Create clear copy across multiple channels for internal employee campaigns to facilitate everything from benefits enrollment to parking construction updates to new software implementations.
- Copywrite, copyedit, and provide content feedback as needed, draft proposals.
- Write and submit Company awards
- Write PR bylines for Company spokespeople
- Write press releases, sometimes on short turnaround, on topics ranging from product launches, financial thought leadership, and other announcements.
- Develop scripts and presentation content for executives as needed
- Write and distribute the Company newsletter
- Assist the Communications & Events Manager with internal and external meetings as needed.
- Other operational responsibilities:
- Maintain project management boards and tasks in the team’s project management system
- Schedule and post communications through various channels
- Adhere to timelines of multiple and simultaneous internal campaigns (quarterly town halls, weekly all hands meetings, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or Marketing
- Detail-oriented and highly organized individual with the ability to multi-task
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Blogging, PR, newsroom, or magazine editorial experience
- Previous experience writing financial content: anything from personal finance blogs to capital market articles to Investor Relations letters
- Advanced grasp of grammar, syntax, and the English language
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong copyediting skills
- Strong understanding of the nuances of audience, vehicles, and messaging when creating communications
- Moderate design and formatting skills
- Understanding of current agricultural trends and landscape
- Moderate understanding of finance (particularly pertaining to investments or mortgages)
