AgAmerican Spotlight: Max Davis

AgAmerica’s Senior Director of Client Growth and Relationship Management, Max Davis, discusses his military background and personal connection to agriculture.

Max Davis began his career at AgAmerica in January 2020 as the Director of Institutional Business Development for the West headquarters, but his journey there was anything but ordinary. A Boise State graduate, Max started his career in the U.S. Army Special Forces as a Green Beret and has extensive experience in complex operational planning and executing sophisticated operations in challenging environments. During his time here, he was deployed to multiple countries in Southeast Asia and Afghanistan. He is a decorated special operations Combat Veteran with a strong background in operations planning and cross-team dynamics.

Today, he is an active member of Idaho’s Veteran Association Mission43, contributing to its leadership cohort, and is proud to support a company that empowers farmers and ranchers while raising his family in Idaho. But what made him pursue a career in agricultural finance?

Why Max Davis Chose AgAmerica

Max grew up in a small town in Idaho, surrounded by the timber industry. Having that experience and being around the families that built their town and state economy’s backbone inspired him to seek a career in the agriculture industry. This also instilled a profound admiration in him for the hardworking people in agriculture at a young age.

“AgAmerica found me as a young transitioning veteran and gave me a chance to get into the agriculture industry and work with clients I have a deep respect for.”

Max’s Personal Mission at AgAmerica

At AgAmerica, Max’s primary focus as a Senior Director of Client Growth and Relationship Management is on the client, working closely with the business development and account management teams. Max enjoys seeing how AgAmerica’s financing solutions positively impact the farming community by looking beyond the standard credit box, taking a long-term view, and understanding what affects their clients to ensure we’re providing the most impactful solutions.

One example of this is when he had the pleasure of working with a Washington family to recapitalize their vineyard operation in the aftermath of COVID-19. He was instrumental in helping knock 250 basis points off their original rate and setting up a long-term financial plan that would support their operation for when the time came for the next generation to take over the winery.

AgAmerica’s Role in the Future of Agriculture

Max is excited about the future of agriculture because, over the last few years, he has enjoyed seeing the U.S. population gain a better understanding of how farming and ranching positively affect their lives and the importance these industries have on the economy, national identity, and security. He believes that AgAmerica will continue to play a significant role in this vision by supporting and empowering farmers and ranchers.

“I’m proud of the team taking not just a sponsorship approach to supporting local agriculture communities but being active in those communities.”
